Vietnam is the second biggest rice exporter in the world and has a long history of rice cultivation, so it is rich in rice husk. Rice husk is produced in large quantities in hundreds of thousands of rice mills all over the country and in 2013 approximately 5.4 million tonnes of raw husk is available.
Vietnam has two large rice production centers: the Mekong delta region in the South accounts for 50% of total rice production and the Red river delta area in the North produces about 20%. There are 3 main rice cultivation seasons in Mekong delta, and Red river delta can plant two seasons of rice per year. The production of rice husk depends on the supply chain of the paddy market, where paddy is usually stored, processed and sold based on the market demand. Therefore, rice husk production is more or less stable throughout the year.
Though rice husk in Vietnam is usually used for domestic cooking, as fuel for ceramic/brick kilns or returned to the field as fertilizer. There are still large quantity of rice husks unutilized. Abundant and stable supply of raw materials has paved the way for rice husk pellet production in Vietnam.
A. Moisture content control is very important step is making rice husk pellets. If the moisture is too dry, water can be added by injecting steam or water into the rice husk powder.
B. If the rice husk moisture content is more than 20%, drying process is necessary.

1 Ton rice husk pellet production line is highly recommend for small scale pellet production. The suitable factory site for pellet production should be in the place with abundant & cheap raw material such as rice mill. And it would be better that the factory is near the port for convenient transportation.
The factory area is around 500㎡ including crushing shop, workshop and final product warehouse.

Rice husk pellet is round and pelleted form of rice husk with high density, customized size and stable calorific value. Compared with rice husk of low-density and unusual shape, rice husk pellet is easier to store and transport due to a certain shape and uniform size. Meanwhile rice husk pellet has higher calorific value & less ash content, which is beneficial to the environment at the same time.
As the new kind of bio-energy, rice husk pellet can be used in heating, living stoves, hot water boilers, industrial boilers, biomass power plant and so on to replace firewood, coal, fuel oil, liquefied petroleum gas. Especially in European areas, pellets are mainly for civil heating and domestic energy.
